This painting was made following a drawing trip to the magical, ancient woodland area of Oxey Woods near Helpston in Cambridgeshire. I spent time studying and drawing the changing light and the effect of the bluebells that seemed to hover over the ground. Having made sketches on location in the woods I then created this largescale oil painting back in the studio.
